"The Lord is my Shepherd I shall not want." This first verse in Psalm 23 could also be the only verse in Psalm 23, and all would be complete. These words state the trust and extreme faith we have in our Shepherd no matter where we find ourselves or what happens to us. This statement says "I trust the Good Shepherds management of me in every situation and circumstance." When we live our lives from a place of complete trust, peace, satisfaction and joy in every season that we walk through. We have become healthy, strong, productive sheep in the pen of our Good Shepherd.
However, David does continue in Psalm 23 to go into detail in verses 2-6, explaining the great extremes our Good Shepherd goes through to cultivate us into Strong, Healthy, Productive Sheep. Last month we began relating this Psalm to our lives, and we will finish it up in September as we end discussing our final destination "Living in the House of the Lord, Forever!"
